Jessica Walsh is an art director / designer and a partner at Sagmeister & Walsh in NYC who also teaches design & typography at The School of Visual Arts. Working across multiple disciplines she tries to create emotion & concept driven work, with a playful approach and sense of humor. When it comes to her home in the Chelsea district of NYC, she initially took a clean and modern approach when she first moved in, several years ago. But having grown up in a rustic country home filled with many antiques and hand painted inspirational signs, a rustic vibe has become infused into the overall décor.  Over the years, she has slowly added in vintage pieces as well as playful props from photo shoots. Attracted to pops of bold graphic colors like bright reds and blues, she’s tried to contrast them against neutral tones of grey. Huge thank you to Jessica, and to Mario de Armas for the photos! Anne

Primitive Knife by Italian designer Michele Daneluzzo. Inspired by ancient tools humans used, the knife has no handle but rather a subtle ridge along the thicker part of the blade to assist with grip, slimming towards the front and bottom to create the sharp cutting edge. It is stored upright in the pebble shaped stand included.

Jellylamp

As you might have guessed from the name, the Jellylamp was inspired by the fluorescent jellyfish and subtly mimics its shape and captivating glow. To adjust to the users mood, the design features pulse width modulated RGB LED strips, that can express various intensities of red, green and blue to achieve any color!

Today my parcel from wreckthisgirl’s Secret Penpal Scavenger Hunt finally arrived! Imagine my reaction when I discovered that the sender was the creator herself!

Everything was perfect. Thank you so much! I was especially excited to find that her “Something that represents me” was some of her amazing artwork! (Which can be found here)

I can’t wait to listen to the mix!
